Dr. Jay E. Coates Jr., DO, FACOS, FACS
Chief Medical Officer
A national leader in trauma, burn, and wound care, Dr. Coates brings over 30 years of surgical expertise to Align Wound Pro. Formerly an Associate Professor of Surgery at UNLV and Program Director of the Surgical Critical Care Fellowship, Dr. Coates is widely respected for his contributions to surgical education and wound care innovation. Under his leadership, the UMC Burn Center earned its first verification by the American Burn Association after 45 years. He has received multiple NIH grants and authored numerous clinical studies focused on cutting-edge wound healing.
Dr. Mustafa Ahmed, MD, FACS, FAACS
General Surgeon
Triple board-certified in General Surgery, Surgical Critical Care, and Internal Medicine, Dr. Ahmed offers a unique blend of clinical precision and regenerative healing expertise. At Align Wound Pro, he leads our outpatient surgical services and specializes in in-clinic debridement, skin grafts, and biocellular therapies that accelerate wound closure and minimize recurrence.
Dr. Zang
Dr. Zang is a Lower Extremity Specialist certified by the American Board of Multiple Specialties in Podiatry (Cert# DFW08170433), with a focus on the prevention and treatment of diabetic foot wounds. He holds active licenses in Arizona (POD-000444), California (E4018), Hawaii (PO-192), and Nevada (9906).
